Resen Municipality organized in it’s Conference Room on 10.04.2019 one of the Twinning Project’s Public Consultation Workshop, with goal to present the draft – Management Plan of the Lake Prespa Nature Monument, in relation to the requests of the Habitat Directive and in line to Natura 2000. Discussions of the participants were for the values of the aquatically and terrestrial ecosystem, and related anthropocentric impact and the existing of flora and fauna. It was concluded that public awareness education tools are needed for local inhabitants and general population abroad, with goal to understand the need for protection of the Prespa lake in line with the Natura 2000 Principles.

The participants highlighted that the Resen Municipality is an institution for management of the Natural Monument – Lake Prespa and prosper Natura 2000 Site, which need human capacity building and rising monitoring equipment capacity.

The Message sent from this Workshop is the necessity to integrate the biodiversity protection and habitats prevention into the other sectors, particularly in the agriculture. Possibility of incentives for environmental friendly agriculture, and green tourism is priority, or other type of financial support for any initiative for biodiversity prevention and enhancing of lifestyle in the region of the Lake Prespansko ezero.
