Field work of the Natura 2000 team (September, 2016)

The team Natura 2000 and the representatives of the Ministry of Environment were looking for species in the Bregalnica region – the home of Suslik (Spermophilus citellus). Field work is one of the most important steps in the implementation of Natura 2000 – species protected by the Birds or Habitats Directive must be found in the field to determine their actual presence. Only then can they be taken in consideration while designating the Natura 2000 areas.
